Providing On-demand Testing & Reporting fr Businesses

In April 2020, HABCO became the first non-healthcare company in the country to self-administer saliva tests to its employees as a method for detecting the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This process proved instrumental in HABCO’s quest to keep employees, suppliers and customers safe. As a result, HABCO’s testing has been benchmarked and highlighted nationwide. HABCO Health has been formed to administer non-invasive saliva tests as a service to businesses and employees. This is available on-demand both on location as well as remotely at one of HABCO’s Connecticut locations. HABCO Health will handle the entire process: from employee/company waivers through specimen collection and result reporting to employees, employer and the CDC.

HABCO Health has set up stringent testing processes and contracted with licensed medical professionals to meet FDA requirements. Saliva samples are produced while sitting in the car. Once collected, samples are sent to the lab for testing. Brian Montanari, President and CEO of HABCO, said “We’ve been testing and refining this process since April. As a result of the success we’ve had, we’re thrilled to offer this as a service to businesses to help them reduce the risk of a breakout in their facility, and to reduce the overall cost of complying with state and federal requirements.”

Testing plays a key role in efforts to contain and mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it’s the safe return to work after travel, or simply to give employees peace of mind about their own health, companies now have access to testing in order to make informed decisions with quick turn-around results. HABCO Health will continue to research and upgrade testing practices and protocols as they become available.
